Studio Policies

Lessons are conducted during the school year only on weekdays. Lessons will not be held on days when there is a school holiday, public holidays, or on long weekends, unless via special arrangement on a case-by-case basis. One Flex Week is included each semester: the third week in December before the Holiday Break and the first week in June.

Lessons taught during these weeks will be considered make-ups for lessons canceled earlier in the term due to weather or excused absences. If no make-up lessons are owed, tuition for this week will be added to the following term.

Tuition is billed bi-weekly. This means you will have two invoices per month. In the event that there are 5 lessons in a month, you will be billed for 2 lessons on invoice 1 and then 3 lessons on invoice 2. If tuition is more than five days late, a $10 late fee will be added to your account.

Tuition fees can be paid via Venmo or Zelle. All tuition payments are non-refundable. If there are any issues with this form of payment, arrangements can be made on a case-by- case basis. Some scholarships are also available on a case-by-case basis.

When you register for lessons, you reserve a weekly time in my schedule for the duration of the school year. Because specific times are set aside for specific students, a student who does not attend a lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson. Every student will be offered two* make-up lessons per Beyond this, you are responsible for the cost of any missed or canceled lessons.

If you know in advance that you need to miss a lesson due to travel or a school-related event, please contact me with more than 24 hours notice to schedule a make-up lesson. Missed make-ups and lessons canceled within 24 hours cannot be made up.

*Exceptions may be made for school-related conflicts, prolonged sickness, or extenuating circumstances on an individual basis. For weather-related cancellations, I will offer in-person students a virtual lesson at your regular lesson time. If I'm sick o r otherwise unable to attend a lesson, I will offer a make-up lesson or apply a lesson credit to your next invoice.
