Abigail Arkley

Abigail Arkley is a pianist, performer, and educator in the Chicago area, dedicated to guiding students on their journey to becoming confident, thoughtful, and independent musicians.
She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has nearly a decade of experience teaching students of all ages, from pre-K to adulthood, in both private and collaborative group settings.
"Every student is capable of meaningful musical growth when given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities to think critically."
Rather than focusing solely on learning notes, Abigail nurtures the whole inner artist through exploration, technical analysis, practice tools, and musical projects tailored to individual interests. These practices are what develop the confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills that allow students to become independent musicians.
Her lessons emphasize healthy technique, expressive artistry, and a genuine understanding of music, encouraging students to ask questions, make discoveries, and take ownership of their learning. Whether you are exploring your inner artistry for the first time or are an advanced player with rigorous goals, Abigail has the background and tools to guide you through your specific learning journey.
